good, when it works - Superjay -
I bought one of these and it stopped turning on about a week after getting it. I called Philips support, who shipped me out a new one without much hassle. I got the new one along with a pre-paid FedEx label. Free shipping back was nice, although dropping off to FedEx is a pain if you don't live near a dropoff center. Anyway, the second TV stopped turning on as well about two weeks later. Same issue. On a hunch, I unplugged the power cable for about 30 mins, and the TV worked after plugging it back in. Not the best solution for a brand new TV, but better than sending TVs back and forth constantly and getting the same crappy model back.

Philips customer service seemed very nice (and english-speaking), but this model is a definite lemon.

I bought two of these at a local store in the spring. They were for guest rooms that are occupied maybe 4 or 5 weekends a year. Got home and decided to check Amazon reviews. (I know, cart before the horse.) So, I read the reviews and think hmmm . . . what are the chances this TV is REALLY that bad? Pretty good chances, as it turns out. But the reviews had haunted me. (I actually hung on to the boxes until October, and the TVs were working when I checked them then.) Today I went in one of the guest rooms to change the linens, so I turned it on, just for kicks. Dead as a door nail. The TV has not been watched more than 20 hours total since purchased. The second is still working. At least the reviews made me nervous enough that I saved all my paperwork, including receipt, and for once I actually did mail in the warranty card. But save yourself the heartache, and Just Don't Do It.
